The Defereggenbach waterfall section is one of Austria's best class IV whitewater. The 2km lead-in to the drops is boring boogie, however, once you reached the waterfalls it is a magical place. This time, we did not choose the standard take-out at the wooden bridge below the gorge but continued to chapel Maria Hilf (46°54'42.6"N 12°17'46.2"E). Take care in the lower gorge as there is a sieve. Also, make sure to check the lower gorge for wood. Shot by: Max Eberl
